Job Summary

The Production Planner, NPI is responsible for overseeing daily production planning, scheduling, and control to align with business targets and customer delivery commitments. The role ensures smooth production flow, optimal use of resources, and timely resolution of operational escalations. Acting as the key liaison between Production, NPI, and cross-functional teams, it drives strong coordination to support on-time delivery and revenue goals. It also ensures accurate plan execution, capacity optimization, and supply continuity through proactive monitoring and adherence to Integrated Production Planning (IPP).

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Production Scheduling & Planning

  • Own and drive the end-to-end production schedule aligned with delivery commitments and business priorities.
  • Ensure material availability to sustain continuous production flow and avoid line interruptions.
  • Plan and release discrete jobs based on build requirements.
  • Maintain optimal WIP and Finished Goods to prevent line stoppages.
  • Align loading/build plans with NPI; perform capacity analysis and level loading to maximize efficiency and revenue.
  • Lead daily production meetings, issue schedules, and resolve constraints to meet targets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IE, NPI, Production, support) to address capacity and resource gaps.
  • Manage escalations promptly in line with NPI expectations.

 

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide timely, accurate, data-driven production updates to support decision-making.
  • Proactively communicate risks and delivery issues through early alerts and escalation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align commitments and resolve constraints.

 

On-Time Delivery Performance

  • Ensure execution of orders in line with factory delivery commitments.
  • Analyze root causes of misses and implement corrective actions with stakeholders.
  • Optimize output through effective level loading based on capacity and materials.

 

Systems & Data Integrity

  • Maintain accurate planning and order data in ERP systems (Oracle/SAP).
  • Ensure data integrity for reliable planning and reporting.

 

Revenue Planning & Execution

  • Monitor weekly revenue projections and identify risks.
  • Optimize factory loading and capacity to meet revenue targets.
  • Track daily execution to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Communicate targets and risks clearly across all levels.

 

Capacity Planning & Optimization

  • Manage order acceptance based on capacity, lead time, and resources.
  • Review and adjust weekly loading plans; implement contingency actions as needed.
  • Work with IE and Production to address constraints and escalate risks.

 

Operational Flexibility & Additional Duties

  • Adapt to priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Support product transfers and perform additional assigned tasks.

 

Safety & Compliance

  • Support and promote the company’s Safety Targets Program.
  • Participate in hazard prevention and safety initiatives.
  • Encourage reporting of unsafe conditions and 6S non-compliance.
  • Ensure incident reports are submitted within 24 hours to EHS.              \

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business or any related field.
  • Minimum of 5 yrs Work experience in Planning/ Production Planning
