Role Summary:
The NPI Factory Quality Manager is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all new products are launched with the expected standards of quality , reliability, and manufacturability. This individual will serve as the primary quality interface between engineering, manufacturing during NPI process. And be responsible for developing and executing robust quality strategies, managing risks, and ensuring a seamless transition from product development to mass production.
This individual will manage quality engineers to ensure below key activities are well executed for each of NPI project and provide necessary daily coach to quality engineer team to drive continual improvements during NPI phase with data driven approach.
- Ensure execution of PQP ( Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM(Quality program manager)
- Ensure the factory NPI production line under quality control, firewall/line stop control.
- Review and approve on process qualification
- Leadership inside factory NPI production / process driving for actins on all build issues (Manufacturing/Design)
- Coordinate and consolidate build performance report within factory NPI team, and align quality statement to QPM(Quality program manager) & Program manager.
- Owner of the Safe Launch Control Plan/CTQ/Process Control Plan and to drive Flawless launch results.
This individual will adhere to global NPI quality strategy KPIs and Goals , create goal plan, keep regular KPI review within factory NPI team in order to meet the NPI quality KPIs.
This individual will be also key factory quality contact window during customer NPI audit or visit to ensure customer expectation are well communicated and followed in factory site.
Core Responsibilities:
- Define NPI factory site quality KPIs Vs. Global NPI quality KPIs, create execution plan and keep regular KPI updates. (weekly & monthly)
- Coach and managing multiple quality engineering to ensure quality support on each of NPI projects following the NPI development requirement and procedure.
- Ensure customer requirement well received in factory and deployed to factory.
- Ensure DFx earlier feedback to design site to minimize risk during NPI builds and escaping to mass production.
- Ensure process qualification on key process of each project/
- Ensure the fundamental NPI quality control executed in NPI production lines. (eg: shop floor control system, traceability system, SPC on critical process, line stop mechanism, CAPA action drive mechanism, CTQ deployment, product/process control plan execution, OQA/In line QA/IPQA controls.
- Review and Approve each NPI build performance report and provide factory quality statement matching with QPM (Quality program manager).
- Host customer visit or audit in the NPI production lines.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution
- Advanced Degree in Engineering / Science - desired
- MBA – desired
Experience:
- Minimum Five (10) years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is a must
- Min 5 years of Quality manager background.

- Willing to take challenge task and leadership roles
- Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
- Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and NPI program management
- Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology:
- Is-Is Not
- Fishbone diagram
- Brainstorming
- 3x 5 Why
- Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as:
- Control Plans
- FMEA
- MSA
- SPC
- Product life cycle and Reliability
- Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements.
Preferred
- Knowledge of customer specific requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing on highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions for several applications and processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
