Position Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst serves as a highly skilled analytics and data professional responsible for transforming complex business requirements into scalable data, reporting, and analytics solutions across enterprise platforms. This role combines advanced analytical expertise, data governance knowledge, business process understanding, and stakeholder engagement to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.

The incumbent independently leads data analytics initiatives, evaluates complex business challenges, identifies data-driven solutions, and provides expert guidance to project teams and business stakeholders. Working across global and cross-functional teams, the Senior Data Analyst develops data strategies, improves data quality and governance practices, supports enterprise data transformation programs, and serves as a trusted advisor on analytics and reporting capabilities.

This position contributes to multiple concurrent projects, may lead small to medium-sized analytics workstreams, and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement of enterprise data assets, reporting solutions, and decision-support processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Analytics Strategy & Business Partnership

• Partner with business leaders and functional stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate business needs into analytics and reporting solutions.
• Consult with business teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, operational improvement, and enhanced decision-making through data.
• Evaluate complex business problems and recommend innovative analytical approaches and solutions.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and influence stakeholders toward effective data-driven decisions.

2. Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze large, complex datasets from ERP and enterprise applications including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Salesforce, ModelN and other business systems.
• Identify trends, patterns, risks, and business opportunities through advanced data analysis techniques.
• Develop meaningful KPIs, metrics, and performance reporting frameworks that support business objectives.
• Perform root cause analysis for business and operational issues, providing actionable recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

3. Data Architecture & Solution Design

• Design and optimize scalable data models, data integration frameworks, and analytics solutions that support enterprise reporting requirements.
• Evaluate existing data structures and recommend improvements to data quality, usability, accessibility, and governance.
• Support the development of enterprise data architecture standards, best practices, and analytical frameworks.
• Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions that balance business requirements, scalability, and system performance.

4. Data Integration & Transformation

• Lead the design and execution of complex ETL/ELT processes and data transformation initiatives.
• Create and optimize data pipelines, workflows, CDS Views, Datasphere models, and analytical datasets.
• Assess source system complexities and develop sustainable approaches for data integration and migration.
• Drive continuous improvement of data processing methodologies and automation opportunities

5. Data Governance & Quality Management

• Establish and promote data quality standards, validation methodologies, and governance practices.
• Develop monitoring frameworks to identify and resolve data integrity issues proactively.
• Partner with business and IT teams to improve master data management and data stewardship processes.
• Support compliance with enterprise data governance policies and regulatory requirements

6. Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead small to medium-sized analytics projects and data workstreams, ensuring successful delivery of objectives, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Manage project activities from discovery and solution design through deployment and post-implementation support.
• Coordinate with global stakeholders to align priorities, mitigate risks, and manage dependencies.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to larger enterprise transformation and analytics initiatives.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration & Influencing

• Build strong partnerships with business, IT, and external partners across global teams.
• Present complex analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and consultative problem-solving.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on analytics, reporting, and data management practices

8. Mentoring & Continuous Improvement

• Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to junior analysts and project team members.
• Champion analytics best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, analytics methodologies, AI capabilities, and data trends.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies that enhance organizational data and analytics capabilities.

Working Conditions

• Occasional weekend work or extended hours may be required to support critical project milestones.
• Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR

Experience

Essential

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise data analytics, business intelligence, data integration, data management, or related analytics disciplines.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting end-to-end analytics and reporting solutions.
• Experience leading analytics workstreams or small projects while managing multiple priorities.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Data & Analytics platforms including SAP Datasphere, SAP BW, BW/4HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders to define requirements and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Demonstrated success solving complex business problems using analytical approaches and data insights.
• Experience working in Agile project environments and global cross-functional teams

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise data modeling, ETL/ELT methodologies, and data integration best practices.
• Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
• Experience developing CDS Views, Datasphere models, BODS data flows, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Knowledge of modern data and analytics platforms including:

• Microsoft Fabric
• Azure Data Factory
• Databricks

• Power BI

• Copilot and AI-enabled analytics solutions

• Understanding of data governance, master data management, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with SAP functional domains such as Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Human Resources.
