Title:  Equipment Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Troubleshooting equipment failures and carry out timely fixes to minimize downtime.
  2. Support equipment setup, installation and qualification activities.
  3. Work closely with engineers to implement process and equipment upgrades and improvement.
  4. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operation standards.
  5. Involvement in CIP (continuous Improvement Project).
  6. Maintain maintenance records, logs and reports.
  7. Perform equipment, jig, and fixture preventive maintenance (PM).
  8. Assist engineers in spare parts management and inventory control.
  9. Support activities to meet Output, Yield and OEE target.
  10. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat
  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering cleanroom environment.
  • Completes many repetitive tasks that include the use of electronic equipment.
  • At time work with operators to complete production workorder based on the OMS instruction.
  • Be immediate guide to operators for any critical downtime.
  • Works under direct supervision and get support from engineers to understand new tasks.
  • Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to operate basic semiconductor equipment such as wire bonder, reflow oven, SMT, etc.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
  • Good communication ability and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of BOM, SAP, MES, basic Microsoft skill, etc.
  • Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability is preferred.
  • Good computational and technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to be creative.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with automation systems and sensors.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Basic English knowledge.
  • ESD knowledge.
  • 5S knowledge.
  • Have work experience in Semiconductor field.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Technical school or Diploma level in mechanical/electrical or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
