Title: Sr. Warehouse Manager
The Senior Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished goods. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Leadership
- Lead and manage all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and execute warehouse strategies aligned with business goals, service levels, and cost targets.
- Ensure optimal warehouse layout, capacity planning, and inventory flow.
- Oversee multiple shifts and manage warehouse supervisors and team leads.
People Management
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing warehouse team.
- Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and implement coaching and corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adequate staffing, training, and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Inventory & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure cycle counts and physical inventories are completed on schedule.
- Ensure effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP tools.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and root causes.
- Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and throughput.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local labor laws, EHS policies, and company procedures.
- Lead safety initiatives to reduce incidents and improve workplace conditions.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, customer-specific, or industry regulations).
- Participate in audits and implement corrective actions as required.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Track and analyze KPIs such as on-time delivery, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost per unit.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs while maintaining service quality.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Transportation teams to optimize end-to-end processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution management experience.
- Proven experience managing large teams and complex warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of WMS, inventory control, and logistics processes.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and labor compliance.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, electronics, or high-volume distribution environments.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish).
- Experience leading automation or digital transformation initiatives.
