POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking a Senior Level Electronics Service Technician to perform complex testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic equipment to support production and quality objectives. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose nonconformities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can interpret schematics, follow detailed test procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement while collaborating effectively across teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assembly, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting and repair of electronic components, subassemblies, and finished products
- Utilize schematics, drawings, and test procedures to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
- Identify, analyze, and correct product nonconformities and process deviations
- Execute the set-up, calibration, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance on test equipment and fixturing
- Document test results and troubleshooting findings accurately and consistently
- Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards
- Respond quickly to customer turnaround time needs
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams as a technical resource
- Support training of technicians on standard processes and best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, ESD protocols, and ISO procedures
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Travel as needed to support business objectives
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Fort Collins, CO
- Environment: Manufacturing/Repair shop floor, calibration laboratory and cleanroom environments that may be fast-paced and moderately noisy, supporting advanced power systems repair
- Travel for training or customer support may be required.
- Work involves repetitive motion and the use of electronic assembly and test equipment
- Overtime may be required to meet production demands
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in soldering and electro-mechanical assembly
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of component identification and circuit functionality
- Basic computer skills (data entry, test systems, documentation)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Understanding of ESD and safe handling practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
- Adaptable and able to manage shifting priorities
- Positive, professional work ethic
- Customer-focused mindset when making decisions
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, and repair
- Experience with circuit analysis and electro-mechanical systems
- Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Experience working in a high-volume or regulated manufacturing/repair environment
EDUCATION:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or certificate in Electronics or a related field
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $30 to $40 per hour.
