POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

Responsible for managing multi-functional, cross-departmental work teams and personnel in relation to specific projects, programs, or products for AE’s business. Responsible for overseeing and managing allocated resources devoted to key technology and product development and responding to customer inquiries as necessary. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and deliver in dynamic environment through adaptability, creativity and effective decision making
  • Empowering, enabling, motivating and developing others on their team
  • Manage multiple new-to-market product platforms, derivative products, sustaining activities while providing leadership & direction for North American based teams
  • Track and analyze critical program parameters to improve product development processes and Time to market release programs
  • Communicate project status to all stakeholders
  • Develop metrics and goals to monitor performance and effectiveness
  • Develops the project management and technical skills of direct reports
  • Develops new product platforms and derivative products
  • Manages a cost center budget
  • Supports Field Sales, Applications Engineering, and Global Support

 

WORK Environment

  •  Location: Eden Prairie, MN, managing a team in various US cities

  • Environment: Works in a standard office environment; travel is minimal and local

  • Flexibility working across time zones as part of a global team, as required.

  • Domestic and international travel of up to 25%

  • Interfaces with internal and external customers

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years minimum experience in an electronics development environment
  • Previous experience in leading/managing engineering projects or engineering teams
  • Strong background in establishing and managing meaningful relationships
  • History of designing power supplies and/ or systems for the Medical industry. 
  • Experience in working in a highly regulated industry. IEC 60601 would be extremely advantageous. 
  • Track record of building design teams from the ground up. 
  • RF and uWave design experience advantageous.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Advanced Degree, such as master’s in engineering or MBA preferred

 

COMPENSATION:                

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $180,000 to $200,000 per year.
