Job Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist leads efforts in fostering a legally compliant, AE core value-driven, and performance-oriented workplace. This role serves as a strategic business partner and advisor to managers and employees, ensuring strong employee engagement, consistent application of company policies, compliance with labor laws, and timely resolution of workplace issues. This role supports the advancement of AE’s culture and operational goals while aligning with the company’s employee relations framework.

 

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management & Disciplinary Process Oversight

  • Oversee the execution and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).
  • Provide expert guidance to managers in applying disciplinary actions fairly and consistently.
  • Support leaders in coaching conversations, corrective counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Document and manage structured disciplinary and performance processes.

 

Statutory Compliance & Policy Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with Labor and Ethics Management System requirements.
  • Update and implement the Code of Discipline and Employee Handbook regularly.
  • Interpret and apply labor laws to minimize risks and ensure best HR practices.
  • Lead labor audits and compliance checks as required.

 

Culture, Ethics, and Employee Engagement

  • Design and lead programs that reinforce AE’s culture and values.
  • Conduct culture pulse checks and propose actionable improvements.
  • Address and manage ethics-related issues in alignment with policy.
  • Drive culture change and value reinforcement initiatives.

 

HR Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate employee relations documentation and records.
  • Respond to employee and leader concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Audit and improve documentation practices to enhance ER process reliability.

 

Learning & Development in Compliance

  • Facilitate training on employment law, data privacy, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Coach managers in applying legal knowledge to everyday workplace scenarios.
  • Develop and implement compliance-related learning plans.

 

Business Partnership Services

  • Act as a trusted advisor to department heads and line leaders.
  • Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Legal, and other HR teams to resolve workforce issues.
  • Participate in strategic planning for organizational changes and expansions.
  • Provide data-driven insights on employee-related trends and risks.

 

Technical Acumen for HR-Process Integration

  • Understand AE’s manufacturing processes to align ER strategies effectively.
  • Apply analytical thinking to integrate technical and HR systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure ER strategies support operational realities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Legal Management, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in an employee relations supervisory role.
  • Preferably from a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and employment jurisprudence.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, case management systems, MS Office, and analytics tools for ER reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High integrity, objectivity, emotional intelligence, and discretion in handling sensitive cases.
