Title:  Supply Chain Contracts Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is a Supply Chain position focused on overseeing supply chain and vendor contracts. The Supply Chain Contracts Director/ Manager will handle the end-to-end contract process for suppliers, including reviewing, revising, and negotiating contracts.  This role will also be responsible for driving improvements in the contracting processes and developing supply chain contracting policy and procedures.  The position is based in Singapore.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contract review & management: Oversee end-to-end review of all supply chain and vendor contracts. Ensure each agreement meets operational requirements (pricing, delivery, quality standards) and complies with company policies before approval. Minimize liability of AE in its supply chain and vendor contracts.
  • Negotiation & issue resolution: Review and revise contracts, and directly negotiate contract terms with suppliers and suppliers’ suppliers within defined guidelines. Resolve commercial points and obtain input from other departments on specialized terms.
  • Policy and procedures development and implementation: Develop and establish a supply chain contracting policy and procedures and standard contract templates, and involve business units, legal, and other stakeholders in the development process. Continuously refine these policies and templates to reflect best practices, lessons learned, and changes in regulations or business needs.
  • Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement in the contracting process and associated workflows. Success metrics will include reducing contract turnaround time and  delays. Implement tools or practices (checklists, digital workflows, tracking KPIs) that improve efficiency and accuracy in contract management.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work closely with internal teams to align contract terms with supply needs and to ensure supplier performance meets contract terms. Proactively communicate any contractual obligations or changes to these stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of supply agreements.
  • Supplier relationship & performance: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers during the contracting phase. Assist with selection of suppliers and purchasing of materials.
  • Dispute management: Coordinate with legal, business units, and others to address any non-compliance or disputes that arise with suppliers.
  • Superior execution ability: for example, identify upcoming opportunities to negotiate better terms, contract renewal needs, potential risks in vendor agreements, or opportunities to improve our internal contracting system, and take initiative to address these proactively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in a standard office environment and uses office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).

Travel required approximately 25% of time both domestic and international.                                                                     

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contract management roles, with significant experience in a manufacturing industry environment. Candidates must have previously held responsibilities similar to this role (managing supplier contracts and negotiations) in a manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations and how supplier contracts impact areas like sales, production, and logistics. Familiarity with common contract terms and basic legal concepts for supply agreements.
  • Experience working on cross-department initiatives (such as developing company-wide policies, systems implementation, or cross-functional task forces) that required coordination between supply chain, legal, and other teams.
  • Excellent contracts reviewing and revising, negotiation, and communication skills; able to balance achieving favorable terms with maintaining positive supplier relationships. Demonstrated ability to independently resolve contract-related issues and make sound decisions on when to involve legal or senior management.  Training or experience with legal concepts in contracts would be good to have for this position.
  • Strong organizational skills to track and manage a high volume of contracts and associated deadlines. Competency with contract management systems for tracking supplier agreements.
  • Proactive and results-driven mindset.  Proven ability to execute.
  • Training or experience with continuous improvement methodologies, indicating ability to apply structured problem-solving to processes would be good to have for this position. Experience leading or participating in process improvement projects (especially in contract management or procurement processes) is highly valued.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
