Position Summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a highly analytical Senior Data Analyst to drive quality, reliability, and business intelligence across the enterprise. This role is responsible for transforming customer quality, field reliability, manufacturing, and corrective action data into actionable insights that improve customer satisfaction, product quality, and operational performance.

The Senior Data Analyst partners closely with Customer Quality, Product Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to identify trends, support root cause investigations, quantify business impact, and provide executive-level reporting that enables data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality & Reliability Analytics

    • Analyze customer complaints, RMAs, failure analysis reports, and reliability data to identify trends, recurring issues, and emerging risks.
    • Monitor and report key quality and reliability metrics including PPM, DTF, warranty performance, field returns, and failure modes.
    • Support root cause investigations by providing analytical insights and trend analysis.

    Data Management & Reporting

    • Consolidate and analyze data from quality systems, manufacturing databases, corrective action systems, and enterprise business tools.
    • Develop automated dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reports for leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews highlighting customer, product, supplier, and reliability performance.

    Customer & Financial Impact Analysis

    • Analyze quality performance by customer, product family, supplier, manufacturing site, and business unit.
    • Quantify financial impact associated with quality issues, including warranty, replacement, scrap, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
    • Support customer reviews with meaningful quality and reliability metrics.

    Continuous Improvement Support

    • Support 8D, CAR, CAPA, and RCCA activities through fact-based analysis and performance tracking.
    • Evaluate corrective-action effectiveness and identify systemic opportunities for improvement.
    • Drive standardization of quality metrics, reporting methodologies, and data governance practices across business units.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Reliability, and Operations teams.
    • Present analytical findings and recommendations to management and executive leadership.
    • Support strategic quality and operational improvement initiatives through data-driven insight

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, customer quality, product quality, reliability engineering, or manufacturing analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing large datasets from multiple enterprise systems.
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting and business reviews.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, product quality, and reliability environments.
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
    • Strong experience developing dashboards and executive presentations using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
    • Working knowledge of quality systems and methodologies including:
      • 8D
      • RCA
      • CAR
      • CAPA
      • Failure Analysis
    • Strong understanding of quality and reliability metrics including:
      • PPM / DPPM
      • DTF
      • Yield
      • Warranty Performance
      • COPQ
    Experience applying statistical methods to identify trends, risks, and root causes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
