Advanced Energy is currently seeking a talented ioT Solutions Business Development leader to join our team.


The IoT Solution Business Development leader at Advanced Energy Industries represents the highest degree of technical and solution sales expertise in the IoT & Analytics space. This role requires deep understanding of most recent trends in smart factory innovations in the industrial and semiconductor manufacturing space, and applies AE’s solution offerings to customers’ pain points.  Proficiency in understanding key interactions of power delivery mechanisms and plasma interactions a plus, and strong communication and presentation skills is required.



  • Develop, execute and manage go to market strategy for a brand new set of solutions for Advanced Energy centered on IoT solutions that provide value to the end user and OEMs.
  • Must be able to engage with clients on problem solving approach, be able to configure solutions based offerings. 
  • Must be knowledgeable about solutions based pricing which may comprise of hardware, software, and services bundles.  Must be able to sell current and future value of solutions.
  • Works with Executive Management and heads of Product Marketing, Services, Sales and Operations on situational marketing, including design wins, big deals, volume commitments, funnel management, expedites, inter-regional issues, & customer sales strategies.
  • Approves or disapproves major commitments and deal concessions with AE field, regions, and customers, subject to guidelines from Services and Executive guidance.
  • Works with managers of other departments, defines the interfaces between Business Development for New Solutions and other departments.  On an ongoing basis, makes certain these interfaces are working effectively in both directions.
  • As products & services shift from new to active status, coordinates introduction plans and ongoing marketing efforts with other departments (Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, Sales, Operations, and Service & Support).  
  • Monitor competitive solutions, prices, installed base, & marketing mix to provide SWOT analysis and develop sell-against opportunities and new solution concepts.   



Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).  Extended hours will be necessary from time to time.  Some travel, both domestic and international, up to 40% of work time, is anticipated.  This position has a significant amount of interdepartmental communications.

Since not all product managers and partners will report to this person, he or she will need to have the experience, skills, personality, and communication to gain the support and respect of managers and individual contributors across the company, creating an environment for effective leadership.

  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years of marketing management experience in high technology.
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years’ experience with IoT based solutions selling and marketing in the industrial and semiconductor space.  Experience with semiconductor equipment manufacturing highly desirable.
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years of sales or product marketing experience.





  • B.S. in Engineering or Science, or equivalent.


  • Advanced degree, including M.S., Ph.D., or MBA, highly desirable.
