POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

This is a temporary position for up to 9 months. Performs routine electro-mechanical assembly operations on components or subassemblies of moderate complexity. Assembles housings and chassis for electronic units to meet production schedules and performance standards. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses Operational Method Sheets, drawings, schematics, verbal/written instructions and hand tools to assemble, modify, rework or re-assemble units
  • Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature
  • Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner
  • Understands and follows all safety requirements
  • Understands and follows ISO practices and procedures
  • Considers the impact of quality on the customers when making decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Ronkonkoma, NY
  • Works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced. Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of hand tools. Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production or service repairs

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical assembly skills and the ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to read technical assembly documentation required
  • Basic PC knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Models positive and professional work ethics
  • Considers the impact to quality when making decisions

 

EXPERIENCE:                                              

  • Experience performing mechanical assembly using hand tools in an electronic manufacturing environment
  • Experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • High school education or equivalent

 

COMPENSATION:                           

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  The range of starting pay for this role is $22 to $24 per hour.
