Title:  Senior Strategic Marketing Manager - Industrial Automation

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing manages Advanced Energy’s worldwide business for multiple product lines through their lifecycles, including product strategy, customer/market requirements analysis, and pricing.  Coordinates a highly visible team, including cross-functional interaction with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to optimize business performance for assigned product lines.  Assists in segmentation, business planning, product marketing strategies, portfolio management, negotiations, and production forecasts. Proactively identifies and solves the complex problems and uses ground-breaking methods to think beyond existing solutions. The position will look to integrate all the AE I&M products (Artesyn, Excelsys, Ultra Volt, Critical Sensing & Controls, High Voltage System, Power Insights etc.) into Industrial Automation Solutions.

 

This position will be located in Raunheim (near Frankfurt am Main) 

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Single contributor to ensure that overall marketing function is effectively meeting the organization’s strategic goals for a broad functional area
  • Directs the development of market requirements for specific products or product lines including product strategy definition, requirement analysis, technology product roadmaps and pricing
  • Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area and coordinates effective marketing and cross-functional teams
  • Directs the development of business plans, assesses market penetration and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share
  • Directs the competitive analysis of specific products or product lines
  • Establishes pricing strategies to build and protect a leadership position in market share while enhancing profit margins and developing marketing tools for successful product introductions
  • Drives effective interface with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products and enhance existing products as well as communicate critical market needs and time requirements

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a newly establisched modern office environment
  • Extended hours will be necessary depending on market conditions from time to time
  • Travel, both domestic and international, up to 20% of work time, is anticipated
  • This position has a significant number of interdepartmental communications

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years’ experience in product marketing or related marketing position
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years’ experience in creating products and solutions that results in high profits
  • Experience with Industrial Automation markets is highly desirable
  • Prefer some sales or marketing management experience in high technology

 

EDUCATION:

  • University or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing or technology
  • Advanced degree, including M.S., Ph.D., or MBA, highly desirable
