Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test / Validation Engineer – Power Electronics to define and own end‑to‑end test strategies for complex power electronics systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, robustness, and compliance through comprehensive validation, automation, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

 

Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Ownership

  • Define and own the end‑to‑end test strategy, ensuring full coverage of requirements, risks, and applicable standards across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans covering functional, performance, reliability, safety, and compliance requirements.

Test Development & Automation

  • Design and implement automated, repeatable test solutions to improve validation efficiency, coverage, and scalability.
  • Develop test fixtures and establish electrical, system‑level, and high‑power test environments to support validation needs.
  • Contribute to test framework and infrastructure development to support future product platforms.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with hardware, firmware, and system design teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve test failures and product defects.
  • Provide early validation feedback to influence design decisions and improve overall product robustness.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Produce clear, well‑structured, and traceable test plans, procedures, and reports that communicate results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Lab & Equipment Management

  • Operate and manage high‑power lab equipment and test setups, ensuring safe, accurate, and standards‑compliant usage.
  • Maintain lab best practices related to safety, calibration, and equipment readiness.

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship

  • Drive continuous improvements in test processes, tools, and methodologies to reduce cost, cycle time, and technical risk.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on validation strategy, debugging, and failure analysis.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–6 years of hands‑on experience testing and validating power electronics systems.
  • Strong understanding of core electronics principles, devices, and circuit behavior.
  • Practical experience using electrical test and measurement equipment, including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Power analyzers
    • Electronic loads
    • AC/DC power sources
  • Proven ability to develop test plans, test fixtures, and electrical/system‑level test environments.
  • Experience with programming and test automation (e.g., scripting, automated test frameworks).
  • Strong debugging, root‑cause analysis, and failure investigation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective cross‑functional collaboration and technical reporting.
