Responsibilities:
- Technology Solutions and design according to power conversion technology requirements
- Lead a group of Advanced Engineering EEs in establishing technologies and solutions that drive performance such as conversion efficiency, power density, power level scaling
- Actively drive design conceptualization, topology selection, cross-functional development with ME, PCAD, Manufacturing Process Groups
- Establish solutions to optimize performance and cost trade-offs
- Review and optimize simulation models, design calculations for sizing up of crticial magnetics and semicons, and ensure correlation with actual performance
- Conduct reviews on circuit breadboarding, experimental results, testing and verification of design parameters
- Ensure thorough documentation on new technology blocks and theory of operation
- Collaborate with Design Teams and ensure successful technology transfer
- Design Process Improvement and Continuous Learning
- Initiate design and development calculation tools, simulation worksheets
- Develop strategies for effectively evaluating new technologies to surface potential weakness, include test for margins, ensure detailed design test result
- Research on published solutions, related literature and relevant technology to aid in technology development work
- Drive project discussions and design reviews
- Strong leadership in cross-functional work with EE and ME Tech Core, Thermal Engineer, PCAD, Safety, Manufacturing Process, Design Team Electrical Engineer
- Develop and grow the skillset and talent mix of the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in Switch Mode Power Supply design
- Switch Mode Power Supply Design
- Using Simulation and Calculation Tools in product development such as Simplis/Simetrix, Mathcad, and knowledge of PLECS and PSIM a plus
- Strong Research & Development background
- MS in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering with minimum 12 years of Engineering Experience
- Expertise in Switch Mode Power Supply topologies and failure analysis
- Design experience in liquid-cooling, or low-profile conduction-cooled designs
- Very good communication skills
- Can effectively lead a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment with a strong sense of ownership
