Responsibilities
Day-to day responsibilities include but not limited to,
- Review the CFA request, read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, circuit schematics and lay-outs, and plan for the details of Failure Analysis step/procedures
- Perform failure analysis on electronic components to identify the failure location and root cause.
- Generate detailed FA reports for root cause identification, meeting customer requirements and cycle time targets. Provide actionable feedback to resolve failure causes and drive corrective actions.
- Utilize various failure analysis methods and techniques using different kinds of FA equipment.
- Collaborate with QA, PSG, Design Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to classify unknown defects and assess reliability risks.
- Participate in problem-solving and early-stage investigations to prevent potential issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Establish a knowledge base for lessons learned to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Develop and improve failure analysis techniques and methodologies for each component.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to failure analysis.
- Conduct supplier visits if necessary to validate root cause analysis and quality improvement actions.
- Have close coordination with suppliers to resolve problems related to application and develop applicable reliability test method on new type or technology of component.
Qualifications
- With Associate’s degree or BS degree in engineering or related field
- 3–5-year experience in semiconductor Failure Analysis
- Knowledge and experience of semiconductor process, assembly and reliability testing
- Hands-on lab experience using test equipment such as oscilloscope, curve tracer, multi-meter, parametric analyzers
- Familiarity with FA tools such as X-ray, SEM-EDX, FTIR, CSAM, cross-section machines, low and high-power microscopes and other related electrical test equipment.
- Proficient with MS Office, particularly with MS Excel software
- Ability to successfully develop and present reports/presentations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully communicate with individuals at all levels of the business and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Utilizes a proactive and persistent approach and demonstrates a sense of urgency
- Ability to handle multi tasks simultaneously and efficiently
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner and prioritize jobs in accordance with requirement and work in shift schedule.
