POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Sr. IT Business Applications Analyst enables the business’ efficient and effective use of the SAP S/4 environment.  The analyst provides day-to-day support, ongoing process improvement, strategic system direction and implementation of new functionality. The Sr. Business Analyst is a liaison between business areas and the IT organization; sets customer expectations, communicates effectively with the business and technical teams and provides timely project status.  The Sr. IT Business Applications Analyst also provides project management and mentoring. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure Order-to-Cash and/or Customer Service modules in SAP S/4 and other HANA business systems across multiple functional areas; defines business processes, improvements, system scope, and business objectives.
  • Assist user community in analyzing and defining needs; solicit requirements and create detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Guide users in developing business cases for large-scale system and process solutions and present to executive management
  • Manage own work and is responsible for the successful completion of work of other analysts on projects or as necessary to handle their business areas workload.
  • Pursue continuous education in technical and functional skills that support the business across one or more areas.
  • Manage a large project or multiple small to mid-sized projects. Support more junior analysts in the mangement of their projects.
  • Responsible for the continual maintenance, improvement, reengineering and creation of business processes for a functional business area.
  • Manage outsourced resources by assigning tasks, prioritizing work and managing to the budget.
  • Provide strategic thinking across the enterprise, tying business needs to relevant technologies. Provides potential solutions to complement defined direction.
  • Partner with the business to improve the use of enterprise systems.
  • Anticipate the needs of Advanced Energy.  Build system and process roadmaps.
  • Provide quality solutions that are defined, designed and tested with quality in mind.
  • Provide the business with the tools and data it needs to be successful and mentor more junior analysts in understanding what those tools and data need to be.
  • With Management and team, define and improve internal processes.
  • Together with Subject Matter Experts and Business Owners, develops and delivers quality training on systems and solutions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment.
  • Works in team and individual environments.
  • May work weekends when necessary.
  • Overtime may be necessary.
  • Up to 25% travel (more may be necessry for projects); domestic and international.

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • 5+ years of configuration experience in SAP S/4; expert knowledge of multiple SAP modules.
  • Business process knowledge in a manufacturing environment including: MRP, Purchasing, materials management, service sales and distributions functions, forecasting (IBP), and accounting knowledge

 

Desirable:

Experience with SAP Enterprise Data Warehouse

Experience with Global Trade System

Previous Advanced Energy or similar industry experience

 

EDUCATION:

Essential:

Bachelors degree in Business or Computer Information Systems, or equivalent education and/or experience

Desirable:

Coursework in ERP Systems and system analysis

PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
