Title: Technician III - Test
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Test Technician performs engineering work. Work at this level is not complex. Some wide variety of complex technical tasks will have engineer’s instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs calibration checks on electronic instruments.
- Perform unit test to support production schedule.
- Conducts semi-routine engineering and detailed experimental tests.
- Keeps detailed and accurate logs on all assigned activities.
- Participate in yield and continuous improvement action.
- Help to control SPC and GR&R.
- Assists engineers to design, development, construction, and evaluation of test fixture and equipment.
- Understands, sustains and maintains test program, maintains test equipment system with Test Engineer support.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat
- Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering lab environment.
- Completes many repetitive tasks that include the use of electronic equipment.
- Operates sampling and real time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special test fixtures.
- Works under direct supervision and get support from engineer sometimes to understand new tasks.
- Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read electronic schematics.
- Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
- Good communication ability and team work.
- Knowledge of testing instruments, such as Digital Scope, DMM, Generator, computer etc.
- Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability is preferred.
- Good computational and technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and ability to be creative.
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 Years of Experience
- Basic English knowledge.
- ESD knowledge.
- 5S knowledge.
- Product test procedure knowledge.
EDUCATION:
- Technical school or high school level or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
