Title:  Technician II - Process

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Process Technician performs engineering work. Work at this level is not complex. Some wide variety of complex technical tasks will have engineer’s instructions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs new process line setup and installation.

  2. Perform new BOM setup in SAP and MES.

  3. Conducts semi-routine engineering and detailed experimental tests.

  4. Keeps detailed and accurate logs on all assigned activities.

  5. Participate in yield and continuous improvement action.

  6. Involve heavily in process optimization activities together with Process Engineers.

  7. Assists engineers to design, development, construction, and evaluation of process jigs and

fixture.

  1. Understands, sustains and maintains production process flow.

  2. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of

conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

  1. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.

  2. Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat

  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering lab environment.

  • Completes many repetitive tasks that include the use of electronic equipment.

  • At time work with operators to complete product built base on the OMS instruction. Be and immediate guide to operators for any critical built.

  • Works under direct supervision and get support from engineer sometimes to understand new tasks.

  • Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to operate basic box build toolings, such as torque drive, soldering system.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.

  • Good communication ability and team work.

  • Knowledge of BOM, SAP, MES, basic Microsoft skill, and etc.

  • Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability is preferred.

  • Good computational and technical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and ability to be creative.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Process / Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experienced in manufacturing process.

Desirable:

  • Basic English knowledge.

  • ESD knowledge.

  • 5S knowledge.

  • Product manual assembly procedure knowledge.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Technical school or Diploma level or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
