Title:  Technician I - Quality

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Assist quality calibration engineer to implement and follow up the inspection, measuring and test equipment calibration and preventive maintenance, ESD control in the production line etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Assist engineers in conducting internal equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and maintaining related databases.
  • Coordinate and manage external calibration activities, including vendor alignment and customs clearance.
  • Support lab operations in resolving calibration, preventive maintenance (PM), and ESD-related issues.
  • Conduct ESD control measures and participate in regular ESD audits.
  • Support qualification activities for new production lines.
  • Review and manage the calibration master list to ensure timely calibration of equipment.
  • Raise purchase requests (PR) for newly registered or missing equipment (In-lab & On-site).
  • Collect and return equipment for calibration purposes and track status of items sent to AEFC and MPC.

 

Quality System & Compliance

  • Support the setup and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Perform PCA audits to ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.

 

Administrative & Financial Coordination

  • Match invoices with line items and submit to Finance for payment processing.
  • Monitor GR (Goods Receipt) progress and resolve payment-related issues.
  • Confirm Statement of Account (SOA) with vendors regarding payment status.
  • Provide monthly calibration cost reports to the Finance Manager.

 

Access & Logistics

  • Update turnstile access lists for Hybrid, BB, and WH areas.
  • Collect and receive items/equipment at the receiving area.

 

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational and quality objectives.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
  • Primarily works in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • High voltage and current conditions exist and appropriate precautions must be observed. 
  • Works under direct supervision and get support from engineer sometimes to understand new tasks.
  • Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
  • Work in day and night shift based on shift assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good communication skill, be able to coordinate persons from different departments to implement the quality activities and solve quality issues.
  • English and Malay communication skills in verbal and written.
  • Familiar with IPC standards.
  • Skills of electronic / mechanical product inspection.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO standard related such as 9001, 14001, 18001 and etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD & Cleanroom practices.
  • Good team work.
  • PC skills, able to publish reports with MS office such as excel, word, PPT and etc.
  • Able to train and educate assemblers and inspectors.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance in manufacturing environment especially with High Level Assembly or related to inspection and quality.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience.
