Title: Supplier Quality Engineer II
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Develop and manage supplier process control, incoming quality and technical capability.
- Report and manage supplier performance.
- Ensure suppliers’ manufacturing and business processes are capable of delivering high quality products with on-time delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represents and supports all technical aspects relating to supplier selection based on supplier technical capability and capacity to provide AE requirements at an acceptable level of quality by conducting comprehensive technical surveys of potential suppliers.
- Assists in development of commodity strategy by working closely with commodity groups.
- Ensures that approved suppliers conform to all conditions defined in our Supplier Quality System Manual and provide evidence of continuous improvement in the quality of their output.
- Review and response to the SCB/PCN timely.
- Audit key suppliers regularly and prepare the audit report.
- Manage Supplier to quality goal and report monthly.
- Prepare QBR for the Quality section and attend.
- Support NPI development, create and finalize First Article qualification plan. Facilitate supplier to do DFX review and collaborate with NPI quality to fix the DFX issues raised by supplier.
- Regular review FMEA and SPM (Supplier Process Management Plan) with vendors to ensure improvement and process control are in place.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
- Works in standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine etc.)
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the electronics manufacturing process and quality control. PCBA manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in the quality tools application such as SPC, FMEA, 8D and etc., preferably Six Sigma green belt/ black belt certified.
- Knowledge of ISO procedure and RoHS. ISO 9001 certified is preferred.
- Experience in auditing, qualifying, and selecting suppliers.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in Supplier Quality, NPI Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
- Experience supporting complex, high-reliability products in industries such as semiconductor equipment, industrial, medical devices, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in leading supplier quality initiatives in complex product environments.
- Driving supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation.
- Managing critical escalations and influencing business outcomes.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) and/or a related field from an accredited institution.
