Title:  Supervisor, Quality Management System

POSITION SUMMARY : 

Lead QSM team within the Operations subfunction to uphold Advanced Energy’s Quality Management System (QMS) and strengthen product and process quality across manufacturing and at customer interfaces. Administer departmental policies and procedures, apply leadership experience across the team, and evaluate outcomes against clearly defined performance goals. Provide day‑to‑day direction while recommending procedural improvements that better support the team and business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1.    Quality System Management
•    Maintain and improve the QMS: procedures, work instructions, forms, and document control; ensure controlled, current, and accessible documentation.
•    Monitor QMS adherence on the floor (ESD, workmanship standards, calibration, environment controls); close gaps with clear owner/actions/dates.
•    Provide QMS input during new product transfers and new line qualifications; ensure process readiness and validation evidence are in place.

 

2.    Audit Management
•    Plan, schedule, and perform internal audits according to the audit plan.
•    Support external audits from customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
•    Track and close audit findings and corrective actions.
•    Maintain audit readiness across all departments.

 

3.    CAPA & Problem-Solving
•    Lead root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or Fault Tree Analysis.
•    Manage the CAPA system, including initiation, investigation, action planning, implementation, and verification of effectiveness.
•    Track CAPA trends and report on status and performance.

 

4.    Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Deliver QMS training to build quality awareness and understanding across teams.
•    Support change control processes to ensure risks are assessed and changes are properly documented.
•    Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and other functions to ensure product and process quality.
•    Provide QMS-related input during product development and process validation.

 

5.    Compliance & General Duties
•    Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
•    Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

6.    Measurement Equipment Calibration & Environmental Management
•    Manage equipment calibration, intranet database maintenance, and environmental controls such as ESD.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT : 

•    Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
•    Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (Telephone, PC etc.).
•    Frequent visits to production areas are required.

•   Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/lab environment.        

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

•    English communication skills in verbal and written.
•    Solving problem skills, able to coordinate people from different departments for quickly solving quality issues.
•    Data analysis ability, able to find potential quality issues as early as possible.
•    Skills of basic quality tools and quality improvement tools.
•    Creative ability, technical skill and independent judgment ability.
•    PC skills, can properly present quality issues and reports with Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
•    Ability to follow equipment calibration requirement and process.
•    Understanding of ESD, calibration processes, and workmanship standards.

 

EXPERIENCE :

•    Minimum 7–8 years relevant experience in Quality Management systems. 
•    Mandatory requirement for QMS working knowledge and internal auditor certification.
•    Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating teams and managing multiple small projects and/or one larger complex initiative.

•    Hands‑on proficiency with internal/ external audit and practical problem‑solving methods.

 

EDUCATION :

Essential :

Bachelor Science in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
