Title:  Sr Equipment Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Engineer will oversee, develop, and maintain manufacturing equipments in its highest efficiency as well as quality. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Spreadhead equipment upgrades and automation enhancements to reduce maintenance cost and equipment related defects.
  2. Drive OEE improvements with in-depth performance gaps analyzing.
  3. Develop and execute PM schedule to ensure equipment/fixture/jig runs efficiently and safely.
  4. Track, improve and analyze MTBA and MTTF to maximize equipment availability and stability.
  5. Develop and define critical spare part list and manage inventory to avoid unnecessary equipment idle time.
  6. Follow up on the customer quality feedback, prepare corrective action, and monitor the implementation.
  7. Create and maintain detailed documentation like equipment manuals, troubleshooting guides and SOP.
  8. Lead complex faulty equipment and execute systematic root-cause problem solving and execute immediate CAPA.
  9. Work along with IE to establish LBC (Line Balancing Chart) and Operator BF (Balancing Factor).
  10. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and other staff.
  11. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
  12. Provide technical mentorship, coaching, OJT for technicians as well as junior engineers.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat.
  • Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
  • Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to demonstrate independent judgment, responsibility, and professionalism in front of program teams.
  • Ability to handle complex engineering assignments.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and equipment simulation tools.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years related experience.

Desirable:

  • Familiar with ISO quality system.
  • Familiar with Semiconductor Assembly BE process.
  • Have good knowledge in 6Sigma, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Maintaining wire bonding system knowledge.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
