Title:  IT Site Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide technical and IT Site leadership in administration and supporting MIS/Information Technology (IT) systems including end user support and requirement, problem resolutions, project management and team mentorship. Oversee daily support operations and monitor provided services. Consult with management to analyze computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions thereby minimizing any potential downtimes. Handle the telecommunication, network and server infrastructure, security and audit compliance of AE Penang site. and coordinates with AE Regional and Global IT Teams. Responsible for AE Penang IT Infrastructure and Operations Site Management. Includes budget preparation and monitoring, IT Project Management. Strong understanding and experienced in Service Management including Incident, Service Request, Change, Problem, Asset, Confuration and Service Level Management. Regularly prepare and present reports and updates to Site and IT Leadership.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage MIS Operations of Penang Site

1.1 Make sure that the team can handle the daily MIS tasks, reports, troubleshooting, and improve overall response time in computing problems at the manufacturing plant.

1.2 Plan for MIS activities to improve knowledge and staff improvement.

1.3 Create learning activities for users to improve their computer and information technology knowledge.

 

2. Ensure 98% uptime of all datacom and telecom services.

2.1 Oversee good design of network infrastructure and monitoring events.

2.2 Provide quick resolution of problems by coordinating with Telco providers or by checking and troubleshooting our equipment.

2.3 Analyze network usage and traffic in order to improve services including WIFI coverage and quality.

2.4 Research emerging network technologies such as SD-WAN, WIFI6, and 5G.

2.5 Ensure all production systems have a functioning, tested DR plan. Determine RPO/RTO based on factory requirements.

 

3. Implement new and improved processes that will help MIS operations to be better in providing computing services to the customers.

3.1 Review process and create new ones if needed to improve the services being provided to our customers.

3.2 Improve processes to complement new systems, technology, or solutions.

 

4. Develop, implement, and monitor/review MIS policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.

4.1 Check and monitor computer security e.g. removal of virus and other threats to computer systems.

4.2 Check if all software are licensed and are within established standards. Track all Hardware and Software inventory.

 

5. Review and recommend computer hardware, network equipment, and software needed to support MIS operations.

5.1 Ensure that the computer hardware, network, and software are working properly and according to the capacity needed to make the business and organization functional.

5.2 Research and update knowledge of the information technology.

5.3 Close coordination with manufacturer, service provider and systems integrator.

5.4 Research cloud, VDI, and other new technologies in Infrastructure.

 

6. Ensures compliance to the company’s Safety Targets Program

6.1 Ensures (HIRAC) Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Control review, updating and dissemination is properly conducted by Supervisors, Line Leaders and Engineers with subordinates.

6.2 Ensures the active participation in the prevention of occurrence of Safety Incident and First Aid Cases.

6.3 Encourage the reporting of near miss, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards and non compliance to the company’s 6S program to immediate supervisor and EHS team.

6.4 Ensures the submission of incident investigation within 24 hours to EHS Team.

 

7. IT Team Leadership

7.1 Manage and oversee the Penang IT Infrastructure and Operations Team consisting of eight IT Support Specialist.

7.2 Create and update Job Description of employees under the unit.

7.3 Conduct performance appraisal and discussions.

7.4 Maintain team engagement by implementing engagement activities and team participation in company activities.

7.5 Set ream goals, objectives and priorities.

 

8. Others

8.1 Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

8.2 Other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

1. Proficient in English (oral and written communication).

2. Minimum 5 years of LAN and PC experiences.

3. Good leadership, coaching & mentoring, facilitating skills.

4. Good analytical trouble-shooting skills.

5. Good problem analysis and solving techniques.

6. Must be patient, cooperation, teamwork, customer focus and customer service orientated.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Field with MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA.

 

OTHERS:
