Title: Engineer III - Test
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer to support the design verification, validation, and production testing of DC, RF, Match, and Plasma Power Systems used in semiconductor and industrial plasma applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with high-power electronics, RF systems, and plasma applications, as well as a strong understanding of automated test equipment and data analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and procedures for DC and RF power supplies, matching networks, and plasma power components.
- Set up and operate test benches using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and RF loads.
- Perform functional, performance, environmental, and burn-in tests on new and existing products.
- Troubleshoot test failures and work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify root causes.
- Support design verification (DVT) and product qualification activities.
- Develop automated test scripts using LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent.
- Ensure all testing adheres to relevant industry and safety standards.
- Document test results, generate reports, and contribute to engineering change requests (ECRs).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and field service teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid understanding of RF theory, impedance matching, and plasma physics principles.
- Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (e.g., VNA, DSO, RF signal generators).
- Proficiency in test automation and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to high voltage and RF systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 - 7 years test engineering experience in a high-end electronic manufacturer.
- Experience in test engineering, preferably with DC, RF, Match and Plasma power systems domain.
- Experience in semiconductor equipment or plasma processing industries.
- Knowledge of regulatory testing (e.g., EMI/EMC, CE, UL).
- Experience with statistical analysis and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and ERP tools.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s/ Master/ PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
