Title:  Engineer II - Facility

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Scrubber Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, optimization, and maintenance support of scrubber systems used in exhaust gas treatment processes. This role ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards while maximizing equipment reliability and system efficiency. The engineer will collaborate closely with facilities operations, tool installation, and vendors to support both sustaining operations and capacity expansion projects.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide technical ownership of all exhaust systems including wet scrubbers and dry scrubbers systems.
  2. Monitor system performance and implement optimization plans to improve uptime, energy efficiency, and system effectiveness.
  3. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action for recurring equipment failures or process excursions.
  4. Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies through data analysis and system monitoring.
  5. Review and approve scrubber equipment designs, specifications, and submittals for new installations or upgrades.
  6. Coordinate with tool install teams and contractors during new scrubber commissioning and system integration.
  7. Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations, company safety procedures, and hazardous materials handling requirements.
  8. Manage and update technical documentation, system drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  9. Collaborate with vendors and OEMs to resolve equipment issues, evaluate technology improvements, and implement best practices.
  10. Support environmental reporting and data collection for audits and compliance checks.
  11. Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and operators on scrubber systems.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in light manufacturing and construction environment. 
  • May also work in standard office environment and use general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine etc.).
  • Working in shift pattern
  • Weekend work and over-time may be necessary at times.

           

SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of gas flow dynamics, chemical reaction processes, and ventilation systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex mechanical and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and CMMS software.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified Environmental Professional in Scrubber Operation (CePSO)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facility engineering, preferably in semiconductor, electronics or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with wet/dry scrubbers systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., DOE, local environmental regulations).

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
