Position Summary

We are looking to hire an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to support our engineering and service operations across Taiwan. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of occupational health and safety, electrical safety, contractor management, and regulatory compliance. This role will partner closely with engineering, field service, and site leadership teams to identify and mitigate workplace risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and support operational excellence.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, review, and continuously improve Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems for all company operations and legal entities in Taiwan.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Regional and Global EHS teams and as the local EHS subject matter expert for engineering and service personnel.
  • Propose annual EHS objectives and action plans to site management and support effective implementation.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics and key indicators as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Taiwan environmental, occupational safety and health regulations, company policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Manage interactions with corporate EHS, customers, external auditors, regulatory agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders regarding EHS matters.
  • Lead EHS hazard identification, risk assessments, and job safety analyses for engineering, field service, maintenance, installation, and office activities.
  • Ensure appropriate risk control measures are implemented and maintained to mitigate identified hazards.
  • Support and monitor incident investigations, identify root causes, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely closure and reporting requirements are met.
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, field observations, and compliance assessments at engineering offices, service locations, customer sites, and temporary work areas.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor EHS training programs, including electrical safety, hazardous energy control, working at heights, contractor safety, emergency response, ergonomics, chemical safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, records, permits, reports, and compliance obligations.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response programs, drills, business continuity initiatives, and crisis management activities.
  • Promote employee engagement and participation through EHS committees, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support contractor and supplier EHS qualification, monitoring, and performance management processes.
  • Assist with sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives including waste management, emissions control, energy conservation, and regulatory reporting where applicable.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, or another STEM-related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience supporting engineering, field service, manufacturing, industrial, construction, technology, or related operational environments.
  • Knowledge of Taiwan occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin Chinese and English, including writing reports, procedures, and communications for regional and global stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action management.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety principles and safe work practices in technical and service environments.
  • Experience managing contractor safety and overseeing work performed at customer or third-party sites.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other EHS management systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive a proactive safety culture.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and capable of working independently in a dynamic multi-site environment.
  • Professional EHS certifications recognized in Taiwan are preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, qualifications recognized by Taiwan Ministry of Labor regulations for occupational safety and health management personnel is preferred.

 

 

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-site EHS support experience across engineering offices and field service operations.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, electronics, high-tech manufacturing, or industrial service organizations.
  • Experience supporting employees working at customer sites, including management of contractor and customer-specific safety requirements.
  • Experience working within a multinational organization and collaborating with regional and global EHS teams.
