Title:  Quality Control Technician II

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Assists with the coordination of MRB material review and disposition; provides backup support for MRB Coordinator functions (MQE). Ensures/helps ensure the identification and control of nonconforming material in accordance with AE quality system requirements. Assists with the review and disposition of nonconforming material, and ensures timely and appropriate communications to component engineering, supplier quality engineering and logistics personnel in support of the timely dispositioning of discrepant material.

 

  1. Performs Incoming and First Article inspections of AEMX products in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, including compliance critical components and product manufacturing. Ensures the accurate and timely recording of inspection results in AE’s Business System Software (SAP) and/or other data collection methods as required, and the timely communication of inspection findings to responsible parties to enable prompt and effective corrective actions.

 

  1. Monitors the calibration status of torque drivers and other measurement equipment used in support of AEMX manufacturing operations.  

 

  1. Performs and documents the results of regularly scheduled ESD and 5S audits.  Assumes primary responsibility to ensure ESD equipment is tested and maintained in accordance with documented procedures.

 

  1. Performs manufacturing process and/or product compliance audits to ensure manufacturing processes meet or exceed documented requirements for assembly, ESD control, calibration, material handling, etc. in accordance with documented procedures, as required.

 

  1. Other duties as assigned, but not limited to technical support of the quality inspectors and inspectors leaders, active participation in the problem solving processes, data entry and elaboration of reports, support compliance of ISO standards, 

 

 

 

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

Works in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment that may require exposure to excessive noise, electrical or other safety risks, and strict compliance to documented safety processes (including the use of appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)).

 

Work may require the use of standard office and/or electromechanical product manufacturing equipment, as well as lifting and moving material up to 50 pounds in weight.

           

 

SKILLS:

 

  1. Ability to perform increasingly complex tasks associated with product inspections, meeasurement equipment calibrations and inspection tehcnicques.
  2. Thorough understanding of material handling, assembly, quality control and material inspection requirements for electronic/electromechanical manufacturing operations.
  3. Thorough understanding of ISO 9000-compliant processes for the control of nonconforming material.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Basic to advanced ability to read and understand quality system documents, technical drawings, datasheets and component specifications, and apply this knowledge when evaluating material, products and processes.
  6. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel). Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP/MRP business software applications.
  7. Ability to work independently or in a team while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment and maintaining attention to detail.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Essential:

2-5 years experience in the assembly of electronic / electro-mechanical assemblies, including at least 1 year of experience functioning in a technical quality support role and inspection within such an environment.

 

 

Preferred:

Essential requirements plus:

 

  • One or more years experience performing product inspections, manufacturing equipment calibrations, and processing of nonconforming material as well as participation in problem solving.
  • Two or more years experience working with SAP, Excel and Word
  • One or more years experience using standard material inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.)
  • Strong Problem Solving.

 

Desirable:

Experience with PCBA boardwork and cable harness assembly rework to IPC 610/620 standards. Also, Wave Soldering process.

High School Diploma and Technical Degree /Incomplete Eng. Dedree
