POSITION SUMMARY

As an IT Service Desk Support Specialist, you’ll be the go-to expert for IT support in a fast-paced factory setting. Your role will focus on supporting production operations, managing handheld devices, troubleshooting workflows, and implementing process improvements that keep our growing business moving forward. This is a hands-on position where your technical skills and problem-solving mindset will directly impact productivity and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Factory Operations Support: Serve as the primary IT contact for manufacturing floor operations, ensuring critical systems run flawlessly.
  • Handheld Device Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain handheld devices and scanners essential for production workflows.
  • Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with operations teams to analyze processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement technology-driven improvements.
  • Rapid Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting factory systems, handheld devices, and connectivity with urgency to minimize downtime.
  • Process Improvement Projects: Lead and participate in initiatives that streamline IT support for manufacturing, including automation and integration of new tools.
  • System Upgrades & Deployments: Manage installation and configuration of hardware and software updates for factory systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and IT leadership to align technology solutions with business growth objectives.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain accurate support documentation and deliver training sessions for factory personnel on IT tools and workflows.
  • Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in a rapidly expanding location where priorities shift quickly and new challenges emerge daily.
  • After-Hours & On-Call Support: Provide critical support during off-hours as needed to sustain continuous manufacturing operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Mexicali, B.C.
  • Setting: On-site role within a high-tech engineering and manufacturing facility
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Flexibility: Occasional overtime, on-call weekends, and project-based evening work

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10/11 and TCP/IP networking.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Office 365, antivirus/security tools, and PC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage projects effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with sound judgment and decision-making skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5years in IT support roles with hands-on technical expertise.
  • Proven experience supporting Microsoft PC environments and remote users via VPN.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems
  • Preferred: A+ certification, MCP, and Windows 10/11 certification
