Title:  Cost Accounting Manager

The Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the cost accounting function within the organization. This role ensures accurate cost analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and contributes to financial planning and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of manufacturing or service costing methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
  • Analyze production costs, material costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.
  • Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning activities.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Lead costing audits and support external audit requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior costing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or service industry costing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
