Title: Cost Accounting Manager
The Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the cost accounting function within the organization. This role ensures accurate cost analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and contributes to financial planning and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of manufacturing or service costing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
- Analyze production costs, material costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management review.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Support budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Lead costing audits and support external audit requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to junior costing staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or service industry costing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
