POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to inspect incoming material and perform quality inspections on products both within and at the end of the manufacturing process. This includes recording, tracking and reporting the results of the inspections and helping to implement corrective actions.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and understand engineering documents to ensure that incoming material is compliant. This will include metalwork, cable assemblies, PCB assemblies and safety critical components.
  • Ensure parts identified as UL conform via the creation of incoming inspection check sheets and ensuring the appropriate documentation is present and correct.
  • Review incoming material to assure incoming quality and document results on company database tools.
  • Accurately communicate results of inspection activities and work with supplier quality personnel when issues are found.
  • Accurate use of tools provided (may include both manual and automated measuring equipment).
  • Performs inspections on products, both manufactured and repaired, to ensure quality levels are maintained.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records and data sheets on in-process and end-of-line inspection failures.
  • Performs random inspections (and audits) on the manufacturing floor, including test.
  • Performs First Article Inspections on Products.
  • Reports results in a clear format on a regular basis.
  • Control of non-conforming material.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primarily works in a manufacturing environment which may be fast paced. May be exposed to noise, electrical and other safety risks and will be required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

                                                                             

SKILLS:

  • Read and understand engineering drawings (metalwork, PCB assemblies, cables, components).
  • Read and understanding in-house generated documentation (e.g. product assembly drawings).
  • Must be able to use standard computing software (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.).
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP business software applications.
  • Must be able to use standard measurement equipment.
  • Ability to work both independently or as a team.
  • Passing knowledge of ISO9001 or broadly equivalent quality standard.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience of working in a Quality Control environment
  • Experience of working with SAP
  • Experience of using standard material inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges etc.)

 

EDUCATION:

Essential: ONC/HNC in a relevant electrical/mechanical engineering discipline

Desirable: Both mechanical and electrical experience in the identification of components and parts
