POSITION SUMMARY                      

 

Supports the Quality Manager to identify opportunities for improvement to manufacturing and business processes through application of audits and data analysis.  Supports the NPI projects working in the capacity of Supllier Quality Engineer (SQE) & Quality Engineer for the NPI project team.  Works cross functionally to facilitate root cause investigations and ensure effective resolution of issues.  Ensures compliance with ISO 9001, product certifications, internal procedures, and customer requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Improve processes application of root cause analysis, working with cross functional teams at all levels of the organization
  • Collect and report First Pass Yield data, initiating root cause analysis and facilitating improvements
  • Suggest and facilitate improvements to processes to ensure compliance to ISO 9001, internal procedures and customer requirements which are effective and sustainable
  • Provide daily Quality support to NPI Team i and operations teams.
  • Perform Internal Audits against ISO 9001, internal procedures, and customer requirements
  • Follow audit schedule to conduct workstation & QMS audits inclusive of follow up activity
  • Awareness of the requirements of ISO 9001 with experience applying the standard
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to analyze and present data
  • Proficiant in using SAP type MRP systems
  • Experience working in as a Quality Engineer or in a related role within a manufacturing environment

 

SKILLS

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with the application of Quality Systems in the Electronics Industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices
  • Knowledge and application experience with ISO 9001or related Quality Systems.
  • Experience with Quality audit and inspection processes
  • Experience analyzing data to find potential quality issues as early as possible
  • Familiar with basic quality tools such as FMEA, FAIRs, DOE, 8D, etc.
  • Proficient applying Root Cause Analysis to reach problem resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Very detail oriented, disciplined and process driven
  • Able to work across functions at all levels of the organization

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Essential:

Minimum of five years of in process quality control within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable:

6-Sigma background

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable:

HNC in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering is preferred

Quality Engineer I

  1. Excellent knowledge of quality standard and process requirement follow IPC requirements;
  2. Works under limited or minimal supervision;
  3. Excellent communication and solving problem skills, and  able to coordinate persons from different departments for quickly solving quality issue;
  4. Sufficient data analysis ability, able to find potential quality issue as early as possible;
  5. High creative ability, Sufficient technical skill and independent judgment ability;
  6. Excellent PC skills, can properly present quality issues and reports with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.;
  7. Familiar with basic quality tools such as, Pareto, X-bar Chart and quality improvement tools such as, FMEA, APQP & PPAP is preferred.
  8. Familiar with the ISO9001 standard requirements
  9. Internal auditor certification is preferred;
  10. Familiar with international ESD and contamination control requirement;
  11. Actively involved in training others and investigating problems;
  12. Minimum of 2 years of quality engineering experience (or equivalent)

Quality Engineer II

  1. All requirements of a Quality Engineer I;
  2. Works under minimal supervision;
  3. Works in multiple quality functions;
  4. High degree of creative ability, technical skill and independent judgment ability;
  5. Excellent data analysis ability, able to find deeply potential quality issue as early as possible;
  6. Familiar with quality improvement tools such as, FMEA, APQP & PPAP, etc, 6-Sigma background is perfected;
  7. Deep knowledge of the ISO9001 requirements
  8. Internal auditor certification is required;
  9. Takes on projects and additional duties;
  10. Provides leadership for the team; gives guidance and sets priorities;
  11. Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience (or equivalent)
