POSITION SUMMARY                      

Improves ability in NPI to meet customer delivery requirements by identifying, understanding and actively reducing constraints by product.  This position will participate in cross-functional and departmental projects daily work and new assignments may vary day to day.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and organizes NPI work-in-process to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. 
  • Works to resolve (in case of design changes) material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Works closely with Planning and NPI build for scheduling and despatching, material requirements, and work-in-process tracking. 
  • Coordinates and implements Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations and rework orders in NPI.
  • Analyzes long lead time parts and works to develop custom supply solutions.
  • Communicate openly and effectively in a professional manner and works under limited supervision.     
  • Initiates and contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put and cost reductions.
  • Solid understanding of Materials/Logistics procedures, ECO process, and First Article process.
  • Ensures all quality processes and procedures are followed per department FP’s.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ability to apply manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of PC programs. (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of production/service procedures, ESD, 5S, and SAP

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Capability to respond quickly, decisively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities, collaborate and involve others in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good understanding of SAP and the ability to apply to manufacturing and Engineering processes.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of demand-based manufacturing and Engineering systems.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Understands Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
