POSITION SUMMARY                      

Performing electronic test of high voltage power supplies, and developing the product to meet project schedules and performance standards for NPI. Working closely with design engineers to test/debug early design units, perform reliability testing and data validation, developing test fixtures/test methods and documenting the test process to enable production release.

 

 

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and reliability testing of new designs with minimal documentation, working closely with the Design Engineering team.
  • Uses specifications, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
  • Validate and qualify products by recording statistical data and make data driven decisions on product and test capabilities.   
  • Design and development of new test fixtures, test methods and documented processes.
  • Acts as the primary point-of-contact and knowledge-holder / subject-matter expert for a NPI products.
  • Aid with training and development of technicians and support other AE global site employees in with established processes or function as technical interface.
  • Initiates and contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put and cost reductions.
  • Organizes and executes schedules and daily work assignments as needed; drives teammates to hit established goals.
  • Helps eliminate obstacles for the work cell / team by tracking, supporting, and giving feedback through to final resolution.
  • Ensures all quality processes and procedures are followed per department FP’s.
  • Is accountable for the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth of the relevant area.

 

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Possesses advanced knowledge of circuitry and troubleshooting that could be moderate to complex in nature.
  • Ability to fault find down to component level and contribute towards design development improvements.
  • Experience with a variety of General-Purpose Test Equipment use and automation.  Including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DAQs, and Switches.
  • Communicate openly and effectively in a professional manner and works under limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ability to apply manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of basic PC programs. (i.e., Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of production/service procedures, ESD, 5S, and IPC standards.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Previous experience in power supply testing or design is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of product test development or design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in a standard office environment, electronics lab, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required.
