Title:  Senior Manager, Engineering

The Senior Manager, Engineering, Critical Sensing & Control in Geneva is responsible for managing Advanced Energy products for RF, temperature measurement products, and volts/ohms/amp measurement instruments, for multi-functional, cross-departmental work teams and personnel for CSC new product development.  They are also responsible for driving product development processes, design for performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost and innovation in new products. This position will support the definition and implementation of long-term growth strategies reflected in technology and product roadmaps to address critical customer needs. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, overseeing and managing allocated resources devoted to key technology and product development, and engaging with customers as necessary during pre and post development. 



  • Drives technical strategies and roadmaps to address critical customer problems
  • Utilizes analytical process and experience to assess ROI of proposed development projects
  • Develops new product platforms and derivative products
  • Improves the quality of existing products
  • Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures effective achievement of objectives
  • Establishes engineering objectives and assignments and delegates them to subordinates.  Exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and employees
  • Builds peer to peer relationships with critical customer technologists
  • Interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions may involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers
  • Works with Product Manager and Sales Directors to identify critical design wins and prioritize development efforts to drive business revenue
  • Optimizes R&D investment to flex with growth/decline of business
  • Formulates and executes long term plans for cost, profit, and growth sustainability
  • Develops the project management and technical skills of direct reports



  • Ability to work within standard office environment and effectively collaborate with remote teams.
  • Position is based in Geneva, OH.  Domestic and international travel may be required                                                                      



  • Team building both in engineering and across the Critical Sensing & Control (CSC) organization
  • Ability to motivate and drive teams to high levels of performance
  • Selects and enables the talent needed to execute complex, product and system level development programs.
  • Experience with Design for Excellence(X), where X represents reliability, manufacturing, service, cost, and related methodologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • Ability to successfully manage the development of new products and platforms.
  • Excellent program management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.




  • 8-10 years engineering experience
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Proven experience successfully managing the development of new products, constructing cross-functional project teams, and driving on-schedule completion of programs
  • Ability to drive and foster innovation
  • Ability to analyze/advise on appropriate architectures for new products, balancing the requirements of performance, cost, and manufacturability
  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and internal colleagues
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently
  • Excellent program management skills; well versed in managing multiple programs at one time


  • Design/development experience with electronic measurement instrumentation in B2B market.
  • Experience in Semiconductor Capital Equipment




  • BS Electrical Engineering


  • Advanced degree in related field
