Position Summary:

The Director, Engineering, New Product Development - RF is responsible for managing multi-functional, cross-departmental work teams and personnel for RF new product development. The Director, Engineering, New Product Development - RF is also responsible for leading and managing allocated resources devoted to key technology and product development; driving product development processes; design for performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost; and innovation in new products. This position will support the definition and implementation of long-term growth strategies reflected in technology and product roadmaps to address critical customer needs.

 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Participates with other leaders to establish objectives and define strategies for the business.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to optimize product development processes.
  • Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures effective achievement of objectives.
  • Work on issues where analysis requires in-depth knowledge of company objectives and defines how they are in-turn deployed into the separate businesses.
  • Creates technical strategies and roadmaps to address critical customer problems.
  • Builds peer to peer relationships with critical customer technologists.
  • Works with engineering and marketing leadership to identify critical design wins and prioritize development efforts to drive business revenue.
  • Ensures material margins for business meet/exceed company objectives for business.
  • Optimizes R&D investment to flex with growth/decline of business.
  • Develops the project management and technical skills of direct reports.
  • Develops new product platforms and derivative products.
  • Establishes engineering objectives and assignments and delegates them to subordinate managers, who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
  • Interacts with executives and/or major customers.  Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers.
  • Formulates and executes long term plans for cost/profit.

 

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work within standard office environment and effectively collaborate with remote teams.
  • Position is based in Fort Collins, CO,
  • Domestic and international travel is required

                                                                             

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years engineering experience
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Ability to motivate and drive teams to high levels of performance
  • Selects and enables the talent needed to execute complex, product and system level development programs.
  • Experience with Design for Excellence(X), where X represents reliability, manufacturing, service, cost, and related methodologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • Ability to successfully manage the development of new products and platforms.
  • Excellent program management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION:

Essential:

  • BS Electrical Engineering

Preferred:

  • MS Electrical Engineering or other related science field

 

Compensation:   $150,000-200,000
