POSITION SUMMARY:        

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a hands-on role in verifying, validating and collecting data for both new products and for items returned for service & calibration where the highest level of calibration precision and measurement traceability is required. You will achieve this through inspection, auditing, and issue detection and resolution.

 

You will interact closely with Production & Service Teams and the Quality Manager to ensure issues are detected, addressed and reported at the earliest opportunity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform in-process and final quality audits to verify conformance to assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Check work instructions, build travelers, and inspection records for accuracy and completion.
  • Audit assembly processes for adherence to specifications, workmanship and IPC standards.
  • Record, classify, and escalate quality issues in real time using the defined QMS tools.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to identify root causes and validate corrections.
  • Data collection in support of Quality performance tracking for calibration and Operational Quality performance.
  • Assist with the training build Operators and Technicians on quality criteria, defect awareness and calibration requirements.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Onsite in Fort Collins, CO
  • Environment: Production, and calibration laboratory setting with some office work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, Work Instructions and other assembly documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate findings to both Operators and Engineers and Management.
  • Computer proficiency for data entry, documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with QMS standards (ISO 9001, ISO\ IEC80079-34), calibration standards ISO\IEC 17025 and workmanship standards IPC-A-610, desired.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0 - 3 years of hands-on experience in Quality Inspection in a Production or Service environment.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Diploma or technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical, or Quality disciplines.

 

COMPENSATION:                           

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
