Title:  Manager, Business Development

Advanced Energy has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager for our aftermarket business in the Global Services Organization. In this role you will be responsible for driving growth in various segments of the aftermarket through both identification and management of new business opportunities. The position is focused on growing existing business and identifying new revenue streams for a broad portfolio of hardware and digital solutions.



  • Research, summarize, and disseminate relevant market data to inform strategic decisions
  • Identify customer and industry trends to drive development priorities and roadmaps
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements, support needs, and potential for Advanced Energy products and services
  • Develop strategies to identify and grow new streams of revenue in target markets, with focus on the aftermarket business
  • Collate all market, industry, and product data to develop and present business cases to key stakeholders
  • Steer cross-functional teams to execute and implement new, and in-flight, growth programs and initiatives through the development process
  • Provide regular strategic program and market summaries to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Assess service business for acquisitions and implement agreed strategies to enable revenue growth
  • Determine gaps in critical resources and make recommendations for annual operating plans



  • Work in typical office environment (hybrid work from home is possible)
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 20% of the time.



  • Technical and non-technical verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to concisely construct and present complex business cases and drive to decisions
  • Excellent customer-facing skills to engage customers in new business opportunities




  • 5+ years in related engineering field.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role
  • Working knowledge of thin film industry (e.g., semiconductor, data storage, flat panel, advanced coatings)


  • Project/Program Management of key initiatives
  • Experience leading organizations to accept and market digital solutions
  • Established record showing growth of a service business in a technical industry



  • BS/MS in physics, engineering, chemistry, and/or demonstrated industry experience
  • MBA preferred


Salary Range: $96,500 to $128,600
