Title:  Design Engineer I (Job Code V107A)

 

Location:  1625 Sharp Point Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525

 

Duties:  Support Engineering efforts in the design and analysis of existing systems, products, and subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals. Communicate with vendors to provide specifications for customized magnetic components, provide feedback to vendor design team, and ensure that components fit within Advanced Energy’s design systems while meeting project budget and delivery timelines. Work with Senior Engineers to test circuits including electrical performance, mechanical performance, and reliability. Document test results and propose possible improvements. Work with R&D team to research converter topology and control methods for power supply units. Develop mathematics models and simulate circuits. Work with Senior Engineers to design power supply units to meet specifications. Assist Development Engineers in diagnosing issues with design, field performance, reliability, and test yields of products and recommend/implement corrective actions to address. Support Engineering efforts related to various programs or projects and the corresponding administrative documentation and paperwork.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Two years of experience working in an Electrical Engineer role supporting the design and analysis of subsystems/circuits.
  • Alternative education and experience: Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Specific skills: Education or experience must include oscilloscopes, electronic circuit modeling and simulation, DC circuits, AC power factor correction, low power transistors and rectifiers, magnetic design, DC test and measurement systems, NL5 analog circuit simulator, MATLAB and MathCAD, Python programming, and Jira and Rally project management tools.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

 

THIS IS A FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK) PROFESSIONAL POSITION.
