POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

Performs basic and routine electronic repair operations on component RMA units. Repairs units returned by customers. Rebuilds sub-assemblies and chassis to meet production schedules and performance standards. Receives instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed day to day will vary.  Assists with Incoming Quality Control (IQC) as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs mechanical repair and assembly operations on RMA units
  • Uses Operational Method Sheets, Service Kits, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written Technician instructions to repair, modify, rework and re-assemble units
  • Uses assembly equipment such as: torque drivers, soldering irons, hand tools, hydraulic presses, ovens, lifting systems and chemical baths
  • Determines and implements any additional non-break services that may be required during the repair process
  • Accurately and completely documents repair activities and test results
  • Maintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance
  • Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature. The ability to recognize nonconformities is required
  • Considers the impact of quality on the customers when making decisions
  • Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner
  • Understands and follows all safety requirements
  • Understands and follows ISO practices and procedures
  • Works effectively in a team environment

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced
  • Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment
  • Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
  • Mechanical skills
  • Component identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation
  • Basic computer knowledge

 

EXPERIENCE:                                              

  • Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices
  • Soldering skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems
  • Previous experience in electro/mechanical assembly preferred
  • First Article and incoming inspection of PCBA machined parts experience preferred
  • Understanding of IPC standards preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings preferred

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • High school education or equivalent

 

COMPENSATION:                            

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
