Advanced Energy is currently hiring a talented Sr. Accountant.

The Accountant position is responsible for supporting the company’s financial record-keeping and reporting requirements and to ensure compliance with US and other GAAP, corporate policies and procedures, and common ethical practices.  This is an exciting hands-on position that requires the individual to be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with effective communication.  The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills; demonstrated successful organizational and time management skills; problem solving abilities; and international business acumen. This individual completes the tasks necessary to accurately present the financial condition and results of operations of the company. In addition, the individual will have the skills necessary to analyze and provide reports and communications to higher level management about the specific areas of responsibility. Position is based at the Denver office; there is limited virtual work opportunity.




  • Responsible for fixed assets, dealing with queries from global operations, coordinating the US physical count and working with the shared service team in China for updating systems.
  • Assist with Inter-company transactions and investigating differences
  • Prepares and records journal entries
  • Performs balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
  • Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements.
  • Responsible for the monthly consolidation process
  • Reviews system generated transactions for reasonableness
  • Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions
  • Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for legal entities.
  • Analyzes financial statement information
  • Collaborate with cost center owners to provide accurate accrual entries
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls accounting process documentation (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley 404)
  • Communicates with local and foreign subsidiaries to resolve accounting issues
  • Prepares reports for management
  • Responsible for providing & submitting data for Government surveys
  • Develop and implement improvements to the processes noted above.
  • Analyze and interpret new accounting rules and regulations with the assistance of higher management
  • Assist with internal controls design and modification of accounting processes
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Education and experience to solve issues and improve processes
  • Ability to develop strategy while engaging effective tactics for consistent results
  • Results oriented communication and team interaction





  • At least 5 years of general or public accounting experience



  • Big 4 or other large accounting experience
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP highly desirable
  • Experience working for a multi-national company





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance



  • Master’s degree in accounting of finance
  • CPA or CPA Candidate




  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
  • Position will be located in our Denver, CO office.
