Title:  Business Intelligence Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Architect will work with business users and analysts to design and develop effective technical solutions for our organization's data and information needs. Along with this the role is also responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the analytics environment and will be required to support other specialists within the team. This role is responsible for the integration of data from a variety of internal and external sources into a common warehouse data model, to support data and analytics activities across global business functions.

This is a technical role that involves implementing and defining changes to the warehouse data model and building scalable and efficient processes to populate or modify warehouse data. The successful candidate will have hands on data processing and data modeling experience in a “big data” environment.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with business leaders in analyzing data to develop new insights and analysis to help continually improve our business and business model
  • Lead the design and implementation of efficient data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from a variety of sources into the Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Lead the design and implementation of data model changes that align with warehouse standards
  • Lead the design and implementation of backfill or other warehouse data management processes
  • Lead the development and execution of testing strategies to ensure high quality warehouse data
  • Provide documentation, training, and consulting for data warehouse users
  • Perform requirement and data analysis to support warehouse project definition
  • Architect development of ETL processes, programs, and solutions as per established standards
  • Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot requirements and architecture specifications of data warehousing systems
  • Design and develop the logic for end-to-end data pipeline including performance optimization
  • Develop the end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making datasets readily-consumable by visualization tools and notification systems

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of querying and designing efficient warehousing structures.
  • Expert knowledge with designing or architecting for highly complex ETL processing and warehousing. Hands-on data processing and data modeling experience in a big data environment
  • Expert knowledge of data leak - all data sources - building out data sets for uses cases.
  • Design and develop the logic for end-to-end data pipeline including performance optimization
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Expert knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Expert level understanding of ETL fundamentals and building efficient data pipelines
  • Hands on experience in developing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake
  • Hands-on experience managing data projects from requirements gathering through deployment
  • Demonstrated extensive experience working with Azure data solutions and supporting environments involving Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake v2 and Power BI.
  • Solid demonstrable experience with
    • Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory
    • Python, or other programming language
    • SQL scripting
    • Data Modeling and building data pipelines 

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of data and analytics in Global Supply, Sales, and Finance.
  • Experience with setting up and improving the team’s development and deployment processes
  • Working knowledge/experience of SAP S/4 ERP business processes
  • Solid understanding of Kimball design methodologies (star schema)

 

EDUCATION:

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Data Warehousing for Analytics & Insights, and BI roles
  • Master’s Degree (or a B.S. degree with relevant industry experience) in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field

 

 

COMPENSATION: As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For the hires in the state of Colorado only, the starting pay for this role starts at $130,000.   Information regarding additional benefits offered by Advanced Energy is provided below.
