POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Account Manager (GAM) will work with an existing base of 4-6 already identified global industrial and medical accounts, managing all sales-related activities to achieve AE’s objectives. The GAM will take total ownership of the accounts and have the capacity to engage with internal AE teams and customer facing teams (Direct AE sales and apps, Manufacturer’s Sales Reps, and AE authorized distributors) globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grow Advanced Energy revenue within assigned accounts.
- Work with global sales and apps team to align resources and strategies to meet company’s objectives and establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction within assigned accounts.
- Demonstrate complete ownership of the accounts.
- Assess and qualify sales opportunities to provide direction and guidance for the rest of the organization. Includes ongoing updates of opportunities and forecasts in Salesforce.com.
- Establish differentiated relationships at assigned accounts through face-to-face meetings to ensure an intimate, timely, and firsthand knowledge of customers’ needs and desires and works to exceed them.
- Work with all levels of assigned accounts through face-to-face meetings to establish differentiated relationships and firsthand knowledge of customers’ needs and issues.
- Develop and aligns global team to execute account penetration plans for assigned accounts.
- Work with assigned accounts to identify and define new product requirements. Feedback this information to Business Units so they can develop improved solutions.
- Provide initial level of technical support at accounts and arranges for advanced levels of support from AE customer service, applications, engineering, marketing, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Boston, Denver, or California are highly preferred locations
- Remote, home office if an AE office is not available and/or work from AE office
- Domestic and international travel as needed to achieve objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of technical account management/sales experience; preferably selling power solutions.
- Proven experience selling and/or supporting accounts like target account base.
- A working knowledge of and existing relationships with the target account base in the territory would be a benefit.
- Previous experience working with manufacturers reps and distribution channels. Proven track record of leading, inspiring, and motivating these partners to win more.
- Ability to quantify and confirm the business opportunity that a specific customer opportunity represents and can prioritize it appropriately among many other opportunities.
- Can build cross-departmental customer support teams (applications, engineering, quality, marketing, sales, operations) to consistently improve customer satisfaction and increase our share.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of personnel, from the individual contributor up to the executive level, both internally and externally.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to concisely summarize technical or complex concepts.
- Passion for winning and a strong desire to be challenged and constantly improve.
EDUCATION:
- BSEE or equivalent degree.
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $119,000 to $174,000 base salary per year.
In addition to base salary this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
