POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

Acting as a key influencer to business leaders, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing financial leadership and business partnership to one or more of Advanced Energy’s product line organizations in support of strategic decision-making within their organizations. The ideal candidate will be self-driven with strong business savvy, regularly identifying business needs and recommending changes and improvements, for both the product line leaders and within the finance organization. The Finance Manager is a hands-on leader supporting product line leadership teams by leveraging broad finance experience and technical expertise to support strategic initiatives through high impact financial analysis, reporting, and insight.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, maintains, and effectively communicates insightful financial information to support decision making of the Plasma Power senior leadership team
  • Provides financial partnership and business recommendations supported with data analytics
  • Manages all aspects of the quarterly OpEx/CapEx forecast process
  • Leads preparation of monthly reporting/analysis for operational reviews to key stakeholders
  • Participates actively in the development of tools and processes within Finance and Plasma Power
  • Provides analytical support to the accounting team to ensure accruals are accurate
  • Generates monthly dashboards for product lines, including detailed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), product line P&Ls, supported by relevant and insightful variation analysis
  • Key finance business partner for product managers, budget owners, and operations leaders, supporting strategic initiatives through investment analysis, business case modeling, and make vs. buy decision support
  • Proactively identifies trends and opportunities and makes recommendations to the business leaders to improve processes and/or financial performance
  • Drives mature, best-in-class FP&A processes, creating an environment of financial acumen, visibility, and accountability
  • Works directly and effectively with all levels of the organization, across multiple continents and time zones
  • Acts as a leader within the finance organization, mentoring and managing (based on organizational needs) financial analysts.
  • As a member of the global finance organization, monitors and works within the internal control environment and partners, as needed, with both internal and external audit teams                                                               

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO
  • Environment: Standard office setting

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform both strategic and hands on analysis in a fast paced, global environment
  • Ability to utilize the full Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level of proficiency
  • Strong work ethic, exceptional “say / do” ratio, self-starter with bias to action
  • Ability to lead and influence through both direct and indirect working relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience with an integrated ERP system, including Financial Planning and Consolidation (SAP preferred)
  • Proven organizational, time management, project management, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

EXPERIENCE:                                  

  • Essential:
    • At least 6-10 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment or management consulting

 

  • Desirable:
    • Previous financial management experience in a global high tech and/or manufacturing company
    • Previous experience in both Business Unit Finance, FP&A and Cost / Manufacturing Accounting

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar
  • MBA, CPA, CMA is a plus

 

COMPENSATION:               

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $116,000 to $155,000 per year.
