Title:  Director, Strategic Analytics and Investor Relations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Strategic Analytics and Investor Relations is responsible for both managing a comprehensive investor relations program and performing business analysis on corporate level initiatives. Reporting to Advanced Energy’s Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Investor Relations as part of the investor relations team, you will manage, develop and implement the program on a highly proactive basis, and in compliance with corporate policies and securities regulations. The goal of the program is to inform and nurture investment audiences in an effort to favorably position Advanced Energy’s shares to promote the maximum sustainable market valuation. As a key senior strategic analyst on corporate initiatives, you will also act as the financial and business partner to the Corporate Development team, supporting many business and financial analysis in mergers and aqusitions (M&A), due diligence, and integration activities. This role provides many opportunities for working directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and closely with other leaders in the executive management team on specific financial analytics projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives increased engagement with investors and analysts through participation in investor conferences, regular regional roadshows, individual meetings, company tours and visits with the management team.
  • Set up conference calls, prepares conference call scripts and practices questions with management team.
  • Maintains a growing pipeline of new sell-side interest for additional research coverage possibilities.
  • Conducts administrative duties to support overall IR effort including mailings, database maintenance, quarterly filings, IR announcement, proxy and annual report logistics, analyses and reports as required.
  • Maintains relationships with key vendors for IR services such as market intelligence database and stockwatch reporting.
  • Participates in creating investment messages in collaboration with management and other internal groups.
  • Provides competitive intelligence from Wall Street and from peer companies to management; Maintains feedback loop between investment community and management to gauge perceptions about company and peer group (competitor conference calls, presentations, research reports; conversations with Wall Street; etc.)
  • Leads the establishment and maintenance of the company’s disclosure policy; serves as secretary to the internal Disclosure Committee
  • Maintains the office of record for public disclosures.
  • Collaborates with management, finance team, public relations, sales and marketing, legal counsel, operations management, international leaders and others as appropriate.
  • Performs financial and investment analysis on potential M&A including DCF, valuation analysis, scenarios planning, full P&L and Balance Sheet forecasting.
  • Leads financial due diligence on potential M&A
  • Provides business and financial support during the integration phase of completed acquisitions.
  • Interacts with ISS and serves as primary communication interface for companies ESG programs
  • Provides additional business and financial analytics for CFO for a wide range of corporate level or business specific activities, as needed.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a standard office environment 
  • Ability to work with a global team across different time zone

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong financial analytical skills
  • Knowledge of SEC regulations
  • Knowledge of key financial and business concepts
  • Knowledge of capital markets
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability in identifying small errors in written document and excel file

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • More than 5 years of experience in investor relations, finance, marketing or corporate communication positions for a public company or a consulting agency.
  • Strong financial and investment analysis skills with working knowledge in DCF, valuation analysis, financial modeling, revenue forecast and margin analysis; clear working understanding and ability to create full company financial statements.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the high-technology market, preferable prior experience in the hardware technology space. - desired
  • Existing positive reputation with the investment community; strong existing relationships within Wall Street. - desired
  • Proofreading or text editing experiences. - desired

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Data Analytics, or similar.
  • Master’s degree in related field - desired

 

COMPENSATION: As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For the hires in the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $170,000 - $200,000.   Information regarding additional benefits offered by Advanced Energy is provided below.
