POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

This position will supervise and manage the Warehousing, Shipping, Customs and Freight performance of Advanced Energy’s 3rd Party Logistics. This is an individual contributor role and will work cross functionally with other functions of the Supply Chain and Factory Team based in Mexicali. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for effective resource planning, cycle count accuracy, and proper material handling techniques. It is required for this position to be stationed on-site in the 3PL warehouse.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage 3rd Party Logistics Service Provider
  • Familiar with US/Mexico Customs Regulations and Processes
  • Accountable and responsible for the 3PL Performance
  • Set up appropriate 3PL warehouse Service Level Agreement
  • Drive continuous improvement to the 3PL processes and influence external changes
  • Drive cost performance, responsible for cost savings and targets
  • Act as the liaison between Mexicali Warehouse and 3PL
  • Manage 3PL Cycle Count and responsible for inventory accuracy
  • Work with the extended Supply Chain to achieve team wins and goals
  • Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
  • Ensures materials are received and are delivered to inventory, and that finished goods are packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner
  • Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control.
  • Ensures materials are available to meet production and Global Service schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules
  • Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care
  • In charge of leading SOP and Work Instruction preparations
  • Other duties as assigned including warehouse projects, cost optimization and savings

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily works in a shipping & 3PL warehousing environment which may be noisy and fast paced. Because of the nature of the product being produced, high voltage and current conditions exist      

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to manage 3PL
  • Proficient SAP user and the ability to apply logistics processes
  • Self-starter and able to work independently
  • Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing
  • Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand
  • Ability to organize, schedule, coordinate, and negotiate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of demand-based manufacturing systems
  • Good PC skills, including Excel, Word, MS Standard Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to motivate others in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to engage and effectively resolve conflict situations and employee disciplinary issues
  • Ability to collaborate and involve others in decision-making and problem-solving

 

EXPERIENCE:                                  

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Previous supervisory experience desired
  • Experience with proper handling of static sensitive material preferred
  • Experience with MRP systems and SAP are preferred

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • BS in Business Administration, Production/Operations Management (or closely related field) or a combination of relevant experience and/or education that is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
  • APICS CPIM Certification Preferred
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt certification desired

 

COMPENSATION:               

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 per year.
