Title:  Senior Electrical Engineer

SL Power Electronics, (SLPE), is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of differentiated internal and external AC/DC and DC/AC power conversion solutions for highly demanding medical, test and measurement, lighting, and industrial applications. WE are searching for and Electrical Engineer to work at our Calabasas, CA office.


This position will report to the Calabasas CA office. The job requires an electrical engineering proficiency in the design, development, evaluation, and analysis of power supplies for OEM customers.



  • Designing and developing of power supply products from concept to volume production while ensuring the design meets performance specifications, cost & reliability targets.
  • Work with customer to determine their needs making cost-effective, innovative recommendations in the selection and application of SL Power products.
  • Design and qualify new products to applicable regulatory and international safety standards for ITE and medical devices.
  • Work closely with customers and sales responding to customer requests for product use information to include meeting required specifications, capabilities, compatibility, interface, and general technology.
  • Provide technical expertise in new product design and modification of existing products.
  • Design of DC/DC, AC/DC switch mode power supplies utilizing various electrical topologies.
  • Provide technical expertise in new product design and modification of existing products.
  • Magnetic design, calculation, and manufacturing knowledge, as well as insulation systems and standards
  • Working with cross functional teams (PCB layout, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality engineering) to facilitate the design process.
  • Liaising with manufacturing locations during development and product EVT, DVT phases
  • Selection components and suppliers based on product performance specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research and evaluation of new technologies.
  • Participate in internal design reviews.
  • Review design verification and validation test results.
  • Performs reliability calculations and reports e.g., MTBF.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis on products, technical problems, and documentation.


  • Thorough understanding of control theory.
  • Ability to write and analyze design documentation.
  • Ability to work and handle multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
  • Successful record of bringing products to mass production – switching power supply (for lighting or medical application and 500W+ should helpful), as a designer.


  • 3-5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering background
  • Must have proven experience with Switched Mode Power Supplies
  • Experience of designing EMI filters / PCB layout for minimum EMI.
  • Experience in modelling, simulation, and testing of power electronics.



  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
