POSITION SUMMARY: 

Located in Germany, the Regional Sales Manager manages and leverages distributor network to prospect and penetrate existing and new accounts in Central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe) to identify and pursue product opportunities in a variety of processes and applications.  Manage all aspects of sales and support activities within assigned territories, and increase sales revenues and customer satisfaction. Regular international travel required to support distributors and customers.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports distributors in indentifying, qualifying, and pursuing sales opportunities at existing and new accounts within assigned area.    
  2. Coordinates activities to increase sales and establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction at all accounts.    
  3. Maintains regular contact with distributors to ensure an intimate and timely knowledge of customer issues.  Also works directly with customers, as needed, to gain firsthand knowledge of the issues.    
  4. Monitors progress of distributors in meeting sales objectives, and administers payment of applicable commissions.    
  5. Assists distributors in providing front-line technical support at accounts.    
  6. Arranges for advanced levels of support from AE customer service, applications, engineering,  marketing, etc.    
  7. Develops account profiles, including competitive positions and sales volume, sales opportunities, company direction,  decision makers, etc.
  8. Produces and updates account strategies and tactics.    
  9. Forecasts sales in accordance with AE processes and procedures.     
  10. Works closely with local AE Field Applications Engineer, worldwide Marketing and Engineering to ensure rapid response to opportunities and effective solution to customer issues at account.     
  11. Travels as needed to properly perform all aspects of duties for remote customers.    
  12. Performs other duties as requested.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.). Regular international travel is required; approximately 20% should be expected.
    
SKILLS:

  1. Proven sales aptitude and sales skills, both tactically and strategically.
  2. Good working knowledge of industrial and medical markets and products.  
  3. Excellent communication skills in German and English language -- in writing, by phone, and group and one-on-one presentations.  
  4. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. 
  5. Ability to condense information into action lists.
  6. Ability to exercise strong follow-up on commitments. 
  7. Strong team player. 
  8. Good problem solving skills and strength in managing conflicts.
  9. Computer literacy with confidence in using Windows, spreadsheets (Excel), word processors (Word), and presentation graphics (PowerPoint).  
  10. Ability to comprehend and relate technical product and process specifications.
  11. Ability to lead and motivate external distributors to promote AE products.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5+ years experience in power electronics industry or similar industries.
  2. Proven experience selling and/or supporting a variety of high-tech accounts via distribution/channel partners. 
  3. Working knowledge of industrial and medical industry very important.     
  4. Track record of achieving sales goals, with a strong mix of strategic and tactical sales experience.


EDUCATION:

 

Essential:
Degree in Electronic Engineering

Desirable:
Advanced business degree or Course study in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or Engineering disciplines
